Boogie Woogie Wednesday presents the best entertainment, atmosphere, fellowship, music, dancing, dining and joy every week from 7 to 9 p.m. at the OS2 Pub in historic Downtown Marshall. Here’s the monthly line-up that you and the wonderful musicians can count on:

Boogie Woogie Wednesdays continue every week in November and December at the OS2 Pub from 7 to 9 pm. Closed on Christmas Day.
The final Second Saturday Concert of 2013 is Nov. 9 on Telegraph Stage. Dancing in the streets with Anthony G. Parrish & Friends, Marshall’s favorite R&B dance band. The free concert starts around 8, after the Marshall Main Street car show. It is sponsored by Danny Cole’s Marshall Toyota.
Anthony and his band will also perform at a formal affair at the Marshall Convention Center Dec. 14. Dinner and dancing for $30 per ticket. Always a lovely event and a scholarship fundraiser.
We’ll be presenting live music Friday nights during the holidays at a new restaurant, Sweet Sabine’s in Downtown Marshall. It’s on the Historic Courthouse Square, right across from the ice skating rink. Enjoy the performers from 7 pm to 9 pm.

“Down The Road Apiece” is a good example of how Boogie Woogie never went away; it influenced everything and created rock ‘n roll. It’s a great song, from the boogie woogie original to the decades of covers by Chuck Berry, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and more. This facebook thread includes links to several versions. The eagerly-awaited grand opening of the Harrison County Historical Museum is Second Saturday Weekend in September. The museum is housed in the beautifully restored 1901 Harrison County Courthouse. A great weekend to come to Marshall for Main Street’s all-day festival, a great free concert at night, and live music in all the clubs.
