Nightlife & Cafes

In addition to free monthly festivals presented by Marshall Main Street on Second Saturdays, with live music on Telegraph Stage from The Birthplace of Boogie Woogie program, the private clubs in Downtown Marshall offer great entertainment year-round.

The OS2 Restaurant & Pub, 105 E. Houston, embraced Boogie Woogie early on, with Boogie Woogie Wednesdays every week from 7 to 9. The Wednesday night show features the best bands and the best crowds in the Arklatex, every week. Thursdays at the OS2 featured the magnificent Omar Sharriff, until his passing on Jan 8, 2012. On Fridays and Saturday nights, the live music starts at the OS2 at 8 or 9 pm, Call 903.938.7700 for dinner reservations, and check the facebook page for updates.

Charlie’s Backyard Bar , at the corner of Columbus & Rusk, is an astonishing music venue, which opened in Marshall on Oct.31, 2011. They have a grand outdoor stage for big weekend shows, and intimate entertainment in the bar on weeknights. Many of the musicians we’ve presented in duos and trios on smaller stages now have a venue to perform with their full bands. Many bigname acts are coming to Charlie’s too: See their website and facebook page for Charlie’s schedule.

Cajun Tex is a great family restaurant at 104 W. Grand Avenue that opened in January, 2012, with live music at 6:30 pm on Friday and Saturday nights. 903.935.7719. Check out what’s happening at Cajun Tex.

The Blue Frog Grill, formerly on the square, now serves up a tasty menu at Charlie’s Backyard Bar, and offers catering services as well.

Coming Soon – Pietro’s on the downtown square and The Ginocchio Restaurant – stay tuned.
